So, yeah, my latest obsession is Avene skincare! Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream is chef’s kiss for my dry skin and I did do a haul on Black Friday but they have a Flash Sale at the moment and I’m stocking up on Hyaluron Activ B3 Concentrated Plumping Serum because as much as I love me Youth to The People Triple Peptide + Cactus Oasis Serum this stuff comes in as a close second for a fav HA of the moment for me.

I’m going to snag the RetrinAL 0.05 Cream as well! I was going to get this Black Friday but changed my mind last minute and got the 0.01 version to make sure my skin was a ok with it. I like the 0.01 version very much and will upgrade to 0.05 after I finish it but since it’s on sale now I thought I’d take advantage.

NYX Fat Oil Slick Click Lip Balm ($11) is a new vegan shiny lip balm available in 12 shade selections that was released as part of NYX Cosmetics permanent like for Spring 2024. Yes, they do indeed look a lot like Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Balm and I was hopeful they’d be a dupe of that formula but they aren’t. The formulas are a bit different so, no, I wouldn’t run around calling these a dupe for Tarte’s formula! I’m noticing an uptick in lip stains for Spring 2024 with Covergirl re-releasing their Outlast Lipstain and Milani introducing a new Color Fetish Lip Stain. I’d like to see more shiny products like these Fat Oil Slick Click Lip Balms! This is NYX’s second glossy formula released for the Spring 2024 as before this they introduced a new line of Duck Plump High Pigment Lipglosses that are quite similar in style to the recently released Maybelline Lifter Plump Lip Plumping Gloss!

Covergirl Outlast Lipstain is returning for Spring 2024 and the packaging is now a new, slimmer designer! The original pens launched in 2008 and were in a chubbier marker style where as this new design is a slimmer pen style that looks a lot like the old Bourjois Paris ones. Milani just launched Color Fetish Lip Stain so Spring 2024 might not be about lip oils (which is a traditional trend for the Spring makeup world) but more about the return of lip stains.

We had quite a few variations of lip stains between 2008-2011 like Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstain and N.Y.C. New York Color Cosmetics Smooch Proof 16 Hour Lip Stain (leave a heart emoji in the comments if you miss N.Y.C. New York Color Cosmetics). The new Outlast Lipstains are $8.95 each and available in 14 shade selections. The provide buildable color in a light stain finish that wears all day without being heavy.

I dunno if I’m boring, old, or just more into nude lips lately but I feel like my lip stain era is over. I used to be an avid lip and cheek stain girl! I still love a good cheek stain but lip not so much! I just like a more glossier, nude look! How about you?

The stains are coming! It feels like 2008 again! Covergirl has recently relaunched Outlast Lipstain and now Milani Color Fetish Hydrating Lip Stain joins to lip stain world for Spring 2024. Available in six shades the new Milani Color Fetish Lip Stains are $13.99 each and promise a hydrating stain that wears for up to eight hours without drying lips out. The formula starts out glossy but transforms to a semi-matte tint as it dries down. Enriched with hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and plant-derived Squalane the formula apparently keeps lips moist and smooth during the wear.

I used to be a massive lip stain girl! And I can remember when the drugstore world was absolutely bonkers with launches of them 10 plus years ago! What’s old is new again I guess? But we do have other formulas like this one so it isn’t particularly new or innovative for example, Hard Candy Syrup Kiss Lip Stain is a similar formula (and it’s a bit cheaper). I’ll absolutely try one of these and see but lately, I’m really into a nice nude, shiny lip and these shades are pretty bold.
