NYX Fat Oil Slick Clicks Ready to Dupe Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Balm

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip is getting a new hot baby sister for Spring 2023. The new NYX Fat Oil Slick Clicks are arriving soon and are part of the NYX Spring 2024 Collection! Available in 12 shades the new Fat Oil Slick Click formula contains an infusion of raspberry oil, avocado oil, and cloudberry oil. NYX is promising 12 hours of hydration in this formula.

As a BIG, mega fan of the Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Balm so, count me curious about the Fat Oil Slick Clicks. I did not like Fat Oil Lip Drip. I think the formula is probably amazing but the applicator wouldn’t saturate well with the product for me which resulted in sort of drier application if that makes sense. I wish I loved them but sadly, it was a fail for me. That being said, these new click glosses seem easy enough to apply and no applicator needed! I wonder how they compare to Tarte’s formula?

I don’t yet have a price on these and I do want to throw out there that NYX is mad expensive lately. Update: They are $11 Each. You really gotta wait for a sale sometimes to take advantage of some of their products because they can be pretty expensive. For example, Honey Dew Me Up is $17! Ouch! It’s an incredible formula but I always wince when I need to go in for a refill! I love it and it is worth the price but something inside me is all, “But drugstore makeup should not be $17!” I imagine these new Fat Oil Slick Clicks will set us back between $8.99-$12! We’ll have to wait and see the price reveal.

This is NYX’s second Spring 2024 launch! They already launched a new Duck Plump High Pigment Lipgloss as well that will be available at ulta.com come December 1st. Yeah, the name sounds kind of ridiculous but these look like a dupe to the recently launched Maybelline Lifter Plump Lip Plumping Glosses!

I’m so ready for Spring 2024 launches if they include all these great glossy products! I can’t wait to try the NYX Fat Oil Slick Click! We’ll have to see if it’s as awesome as Tarte’s version!

I Used My Sephora Beauty Insider Rewards Recklessly This Weekend

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I think we all agree that the Sephora Beauty Insider Rewards sucks. The Sephora Beauty Insider Rewards Program has three tiers which are BI, VIB, and Rouge. Each of these tiers is based off a dollar amount spent each year with Rouge being the highest. I’ve been Rouge since the Rewards System became a thing and their were actual physical red cards you’d carry around like a red banner of honor stating you were Rouge. I still have mine (because I’m not longer in denial that I hoard stuff I don’t need).

I just check my account and it says “Enjoy life as a Rouge through 12/31/24”. I HAVE no idea how that happened because I rarely spend much at Sephora lately. Ulta gets the bulk of money and department stores like Neiman Marcus, Saks, and Nordys gets a bit too. I don’t even know how I made Rouge last year never mind this year.

Anyway, like many of you I have Reward Points just piling up in my Sephora account. You can redeem Reward Points in the Sephora Rewards Bazaar but honestly, most of it either sells out fast when it drops or it’s nothing of interest. They do drop $100 Reward Cards but they come with so many restrictions plus returns are impossible when using one that I don’t even bother anymore.

Experiment Super Saturated Barrier Support Concentrate Has One Very Important Thing Wrong With It

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
5 stars out of 5

Experiment Super Saturated Barrier Support Concentrate ($28) a hydrating serum that contains 30% glycerin. Yes, you read that right! Let me say it again! 30% glycerin! Pretty cool right? It also contains polyglutamic acid, bisabolol, niacinamide, and prickly pear extract. The serum not only acts to keep you skin super hydrates but also, ensures you’re protecting your skin barrier’s support. This is especially helpful if you’ve done any damage to that barrier with the overuse of acids or exfoliating products.

I was recently offered a discount for reader’s of Musings of a Muse. If you want you can use that discount to get 10% off. The code is THEMUSE10. However, I want to fully disclose before I continue on with this review that I purchased this item with my own money. I think we’ve entered shady waters lately with reviews and I see a lot of dishonesty happening and I see a lot of consumers, readers, and followers pushing back at that. Below is my receipt for the purchase of this item. I learned about it via a Tiktok someone did and I went into my purchase very skeptical because I, myself, find it hard to believe anyone reviewing makeup or skincare lately. Experiment just recently extended a promo code to use on the blog and it’s very flattering because I really enjoy their products and I hope they do more in the future because the two they have are amazing. That being said, I have purchased everything from Experiment myself and nothing was gifted from the brand. I got my hands on Experiment Super Saturated Barrier Support Concentrate back in March and I’m on my second bottle of it and can’t wait for the restock happening June 13th (it’s been out of stock since March or so). I highly urge you to get on their mailing list to be alerted when it restocks as I’m not sure how quickly it will sell out.

Considering I’ve been using this for some months now, the discount coming into play, and the restock happening soon it seemed a good time to finally review Experiment Super Saturated Barrier Support Concentrate and share my thoughts on this formula and also, tell you about the biggest and most important problem with it.

I’m Curious! What Products Have I Recommended You Liked? Which Did You Hate?

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving if you celebrate and if you don’t I hope it was a relaxing weekend for you! The Holiday Season is here and the cold is sitting in early here in Gotham! It feels like it’s been raining forever and now it’s just downright chilly! I hope it’s warmer wherever you are.

I was thinking today we haven’t had a Musings of the Day in a while and I’d love to hear from you all. I was wondering what products have I recommended that were keepers for you? Have I recommended any you absolutely hated?

I’d love it if you shared! I always love getting a message from someone when something really worked for them that I recommended! I rarely gets the ones say “Nope, not for me!” So, let’s make this one a free for all and discuss the ones you love and the ones that you hate or didn’t work for you!

I hope to hear from you all soon!

The One Brush Set You Need and It’s $12 Bucks

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

You’ve heard me rave this in the past and I apologize for sound like a broken record but if you don’t own it already might I recommend grabbing the Real Techniques Everyday Eye Essentials Makeup Brush Set? It’s $11.99 on sale at ulta.com and totally worth a haul! I absolutely love this set and have two of them! Yeah, two! Seriously, I feel like if I had to give up every eyeshadow brush I have in my stash (and that’s a lot) I could happily make do with this set and be completely happy. The brushes are super soft, have sturdy handles, wash well, and they blend out shadows like a dream. This is a REALLY great, inexpensive set of brushes worth picking up when it goes on sale! And hey, $12 bucks for eight full size brushes! Who can beat that? The defining crease brush in this set is one of my favs for blending! It’s smaller which makes it great for precise blending!

You get:

  • RT 307 Shading Brush: Build cream or powder color shades & intensify coverage
  • RT 310 Essential Crease: Blend powder accent colors seamlessly within the creases of the eyelid
  • RT 304 Defining Crease: Creates straight cat eyes & designs across the lid
  • RT 313 Definer Brush: Creates straight cat eyes & designs across the lid
  • RT 308 Medium Brush: Sweep & blend powder or cream base shadows
  • RT 311 Fine Liner Brush: Creates crisp lines of liquid or gel eyeliner
  • RT 332 Smudge Brush: Blend & blur eyeliner and shadows along the lash line
  • RT 312 Lash Separator: Helps separate mascara clumps

Let me know if you grab it (or own it already). Trust me you need this one!

Enjoy!
