Eye Creams To Buy and Skip During the Sephora Sale

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I am a self-confessed eye cream-a-holic. I have tried most every eye cream on the market from cheap to expensive. I’m a very firm believer that not a lot of them work however, some are better than others, especially in the moisture they provide which in fact is the key to making finer lines look smoother and plumped up.

With the Sephora Spring Savings Event starting later this week it’s a great time to stock up on eye cream staples or maybe try out something new. Here are a few eye creams to buy and skip during the Sephora sale!

Youth To The People Dream Eye Cream with Vitamin C and Ceramides
100 hundred times yes! Especially if you have dry eyes! This is amazingly thick, absorbs quickly, and leaves eyes very, very well hydrated.

KORA Organics Noni Radiant Brightening Eye Oil
Trust me this is a no. You can just take Argan Oil and pat it under your eyes as this really doesn’t do anything at all as far as brightening and it provides very little moisture.

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Eye Cream with Retinol
YES! This is super moisturizing and it smoothes finer lines and makes them look so much more hydrated!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Rescue

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Rescue1

Tatcha The Silk Peony Melting Eye CreamPlease, no. I purchased this when it originally launched and it makes no sense. The texture never fully absorbs, it feels like a lightweight clay, and just doesn’t sit right under eyes!

Peace Out Retinol Eye StickYes! Oddly it works! It’s not really hydrating at all but use it under your fav eye cream or before going to bed in the evening and within about two to three weeks you’ll def see an improvement in lines. I’m on my third tube of this stuff and really am convinced it made my finer lines look so much smoother.

Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream
A solid eye cream but it’s either a no or a yes. Yes, if you’re in your mid-twenties to early thirties but no if you’re older. It’s not quite as moisturizing as you may need if you’re a bit older nor will it perform any miracles

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base
Yes, yes, yes especially yes if you use heavier, pigmented concealers like Shape Tape. I use this along with my normal eye cream to prep for concealer. It’s quite hydrating yet light and refreshing. It absorbs quickly and sets a beautiful, moisturizing canvas for concealer.

Drunk Elephant Ceramighty AF Eye Cream with Ceramides
Naaa…! I purchased this when it originally launched and it’s nice. It absorbs easily, and feels very light, but it just isn’t moisturizing enough for me. I personally need a lot more moisture and this doesn’t provide it.

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream
Yes, absolutely. It’s still an OG when it comes to providing amazing moisture under eyes. It’s not gonna do much else, just a warning, but it will give your eyes a super boost of hydration!

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Mini Creamy Eye Treatment with AvocadoThis is a one-trick pony that excels at its one trick. It won’t depuff, it won’t brighten, it won’t treat dark circles, but it will be the heaviest eye cream you ever own that takes an age to absorb and it will provide super moisture under eyes.

Hourglass Equilibrium Intensive Hydrating Eye Balm
Purchased it twice already and will happily indulge again and again and again. This is like vaseline for eyes! It’s fire! Totally smoothes finer lines and leaves them looking incredible. It’s expensive but I always grab one when it goes on sale. Totally worth the splurge! If they discontinue this I will cry hard tears!

Hourglass Equilibrium Instant Plumping Eye Mask
This has replaced by beloved Versed The Fix Emergency Eye Mask (but sadly, it’s way more expensive). This is an instant smoothing and plumping mask that makes eyes look so incredibly smooth and hydrated. I use this before a night out and it makes my eyes look so much less tired.

Charlotte Tilbury Cryo-Recovery Depuffing Eye Serum
I think Charlotte does some good skincare but it can be hit or miss! For example, Magic Cream just isn’t my thing! And neither is this eye serum! It does nothing and is quite expensive for doing nothing. SKIP!

The INKEY List Caffeine Eye CreamI love me some Inkey List but this eye cream is a no. The caffine makes it too drying for this girl! Skip it!

Got an eye cream you’re curious about? Drop me a comment maybe I tried it and can help!

Pupa Delicious Cake Caramel Cake Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
5 stars out of 5

Pupa Delicious Cake Caramel Cake Eyeshadow Palette ($22) is one of two new scented eyeshadow quads that launched back in February that I quite randomly picked up when I was having a “I need retail therapy” moment. I honestly, thought these were a bit pricey at the time (they were $19 but have since risen to $22) and still feel that way as you may know from reading my prior review of the Pupa Delicious Cake Cherry Chocolate Cake Eyeshadow Palette.

But I gotta say the Pupa Delicious Cake Caramel Cake Eyeshadow Palette caught me off unaware. I probably have every single one of the shades in this quad bit somehow, someway it’s become a favorite quad of mine and I found myself wearing it for a week straight! A WEEK! I mean, people, come on! I have enough eyeshadow palettes and single shades to last me this lifetime and the next, and the one after that, and the one after that one, and the one after that…! Wearing an eyeshadow quad or palette for a week straight is unheard of! But this was such a joy to apply, to blend, and it just made my big brown eyes look super sultry that I found myself reaching for it a lot. And hell, there’s even a tiny dent in two of the shades. I’m proud of those dents!

Sometimes I Post Stuff On Instagram, and Twitter, Oh, and Facebook

I’ve been getting a lot of emails lately saying a deal I posted about is expired (some people get enraged about this eep!). Most of those emails are from people who subscribe to my newsletter (thank you for reading my daily chit chat).

I just wanted to say when it comes to deals I can’t help if they expire. If I post on a Monday my newsletter won’t reach you till Tuesday at which point the item could sell out or the item won’t be for sale anymore.

I do post small clips of everything posted on Musings of a Muse across social media! So, if it’s a sale you’ll get the alert sooner if you follow on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!

Hope this helps 🙂 And I’d appreciate the follow too!

Why I Love Lanolips (And Not Just Because It’s On Sale)

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I am and always will be a Rosebud Slave kinda girl and it’s definitely the solution to life, the universe, and everything but so, is Lanolips!

Lanolips is 25% Off this week at ulta.com so, of course, I got to stocking up on my favorite flavors and formulas. I love this stuff. It’s just so damn versatile. In my recent haul, I grabbed Peach, a restock of Glossy Balm (swatched below), Lemonade, and Face Base.

The multi-balms are incredible. You can use them on your lips obviously but they are so much more. Dry elbows? Check. Cuticles? Check. Under eyes? Check! Mixed with blush to create a dewy tint? Check! Chapped Lips? Check! Ashy knees or cracked heals? Double check.

This stuff works everywhere. I love a good multitasking product and this has checks across the board to treat a wide variety of my beauty issues. But my fav by far is mixing it in with a powder blush or even a colorful pink, rose, or peach eyeshadow to create a pretty dewy blush!

If you’ve never tried Lanolips now is your chance to score. The entire line is 25% off at ulta.com

Do share your uses for Lanolips with me!

Juliette Has a Gun Lust For Sun Eau de Parfum Launches in Time for the Sephora Sale

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Juliette Has a Gun fans gather around the new Lust For Sun Eau de Parfum is now available at sephora.com and just in time for the Spring Savings Event!

“With Lust For Sun, I imagined a new playground for our Juliette: her swimming pool. It’s a dreamy decor, where Juliette sets the rules and expects her entourage to fulfill her every desire—even her pink flamingo wears a scarf for a quick pose in front of the endless pool and the infinite horizon.” –Romano Ricci

This is a new fresh, solar fragrance with notes of monoi, coconut, ylang-ylang, and vanilla. The gorgeous yellow and red bottle was the first thing that caught my eye! It looks like a fancy tropical drink (Mai Tai anyone?) and of course the second thing that got me was the monoi, cocont, and vanilla. That sounds wonderful! You know I’m a big fan of Carol’s Daughter Monoi Eau De Toilette perhaps this might be just as lovely?

Top Notes: freesia, coconut, bergamot
Hear Notes: ylang ylang, jasmine absolute, orange blossom, gardenia
Base Notes: vanilla, ambroxan, white musk

Juliette Has a Gun Lust For Sun Eau de Parfum is available in an Travel-Size Spray for $30 or 3.4 oz and 1.7 oz bottles.
