Hmmm first time I’ve seen mascara from DuWop….interesting!

Overall, looks like a rather promising selection of goodies from DuWop! I got my hands on the eyeshadow trio this weekend and I’m supposed to mention that Jo, my sister, is responsible for finding it. She gave me specific instructions that she was to get credit for locating it at Sephora and turning to me and doing our normal routine which consists of both of us saying “Ooooo Prett-i” a few hundred times.

Sorry, but I’d rather not hear her call from across the room when she reads this that I failed to mention her (her desk faces mine at our office)! Everyone should now proceed to comment in the comment box and tell her thanks at her great find so she feels all special.

In all seriousness, it was a rather good find! The palette is fab but I won’t say more until I do a face with it!

Do you have any really silly stuff in your beauty arsenal that you swear by?

Black Head Off Stick by B & C Laboratories is probably one of my most silliest items that I stash away in my beauty arsenal and often reach for, I’m embarrassed to admit I do use this!

Muse, what the hell is Black Head Off Stick anywhere?

Well….

This little guy is made by those same friendly people over at Sony who bring you great electronics and lip gloss too!

It’s a Japanese thing don’t ask me.

But I’m just happy to have a little stash of Black Head Off Sticks. I’ve been through about 3 in the last year.

Anyway I forgot to explain what it was didn’t I?

Well….

It looks like a lip balm but it’s actually a stick that you smooth over your nose and after that you proceed to rub the area and supposedly this “erases” your blackheads.

Don’t ask me why I continue using this thing but for some odd reason or another I’ve convinced myself that it’s improved the blackheads I get on my nose. Ok, granted not those deeply embedded suckers that you need acid to remove…BUT the ones at the surface are easily removed by swiping this across your nose a few times and briskly rubbing.

It also kinda makes my nose matte and less shiny….and this is weird…but my nose kind of looks brighter and fresher….does that make any sense?

Prob not but I think when they coined the phrase “powder your nose” the effect would be similiar to what Black Head Off Stick does to my nose!

Is it useless? Possibly.

Am I convinced it works?

Yes.

Do I recommend it?

Sure why not!

It’s cheap as day old chips so yes I recommend picking one up. And hey you don’t even have to go to Japan (although if you have the means I highly recommend flying to Japan to get one! For cultural purposes only of course) to get it. Most Asian markets have these available and if not you can wander through my Japanese Shopping Guide and come across a few shops that carry this and it’s also available on E-bay for mere pennies.

The Muse likes it. Useless, possibly but I’m all for useless products!

The Cargo Color Eyeshadow Palette definately caught my eye as the color selection is vast with a multitude of color shades available. I’m also very excited about those exfoliating clothes which have a really great price plus are reusable. I liked the concealer as well but was disappointed that it was available in only two shade options so those with a darker tone will be unable to indulge.

All in all looks like a nice lot of new goodies from Cargo Cosmetics!

Ahhh concealer round up continues today with a concealer from across the pond!

Chances are if you’re not living in the UK or up to date on your British Pop Culture you don’t know who Nichola Roberts is.

Nicola Roberts is a member of the girl band Girls Aloud and now a creator of her own makeup line. Jelly Pong Pong released the collection from Nichola Roberts in April and it sold out pretty quickly online which accounts for why I never nabbed some for myself. By the time I did get a chance to look through the collection it was sold out completely. However, the good news is ASOS still sells all of the collection (They ship worldwide btw).

After much debate with myself I decided to order the concealer and a few other items. I was highly doubtful I should order any of it since the collection is geared towards fair, pale, and milky completions. Since I’m so obsessed with lighter products and whiter skin I decided I’d give the concealer a shot.

I really wanted to love this. It sported cute packaging, came in a similar style jar as my beloved Benefit Boi-ing, looked moist and creamy, plus the price wasn’t too bad at �8.00.

I made my first mistake when I ordered the lightest shade which was fair. It comes in fair and natural and I’m thinking natural might have been better suited to my skin. Although fair worked ok it was just a bit too light. I was hopeful that lightness would brighten my eye area up but all it did was make me look unnatural. The product is pigmented enough to cover blue or darker circles on fair skin and will offer some brightening benefits for a shade or two lighter than fair.

Please take note the skin on the back of my hand is much darker than the skin on my face


I made my second mistake when I assumed this would be moist and creamy. It’s not either sadly. The texture is very hard which makes blending extremely difficult even after warming the concealer on the back of my hand. The worst part is how it creased into my fine lines and actually dried my eye area out even worst than it already is! Eep!

I don’t want to give this a complete poor review because I believe that it can be extremely good for a few select people. Younger girls can definately benefit from this if you’re eye area is woe free (example: fine lines, moist skin, etc…) and I also think it’s ideal for pale, creamy complexions. It has to be thee most flattering shade I’ve seen on the market for a fair complexion. Finding the right shade of foundation, concealer, etc..when you have very fair skin comes with drama so the idea behind this entire line is simply awesome for those of you lucky enough to have a gorgeous, milky complexion.

Who this might be good for:

• Fairer Skin
• Younger Skin
• Line Free Skin
• Normal Skin that’s not dry

Those who should avoid it:

• Older Skin
• Finely Lined Skin
• Dry Skin

It had it’s strong points and I think it could possibly be a Muse Approval if I fit the criteria of being younger, less lines, no dry skin, etc….

However, since I’m 30, sport some fine lines, and have a dry under eye area it simply did not work for me.

I’m quite disappointed as I really wanted to love! Stay Tuned Next Week when I review the Dainty Doll Foundation! Maybe that’ll be good!? We shall see!

Urban Decay hasn’t had lipstick for a very long time and now relaunches with 22 shades for Fall 2008. They went right ahead and did it big time baby!

I can’t begin to tell you how exciting it was getting four of these bad boys to test out and review for you. They are simply thee most gorgeous lippies around at the moment as far as the Muse is concerned!

Let’s focus on the awesome packaging first. Each shade of lipstick is housed in a large, heavy container with two-toned light and dark purple swirls decorating the outer lid with a goth mini dagger handle on top. The casing of the lipstick tube is a shiny metallic purple that contrasts beautifully with the swirly lid. If that wasn’t enough of a presentation Urban Decay went an extra mile and embedded each lipstick with Urban Decay and a tiny dagger. The entire packaging creates not only a posh feel to each lipstick but also holds an edge of dark and dangerous! Just how the Muse likes her lipstick! Dark, edgy, dangerous, and most importantly posh!

Now I read a review recently that said the formula was horribly gritty due to the mass amount of glitter in the lipstick and that’s not completely true. Depending on the color you choose the amount of glitter may be more or less! It also deserves to be mentioned that even if the color is overdosing on heavy shimmer and glitter the texture was in no way gritty. I felt like each color I tried had a wonderfully moisturizing, melty formula that simply glided onto my lips leaving behind beautifully pigmented popping color!

I’m completely serious when I say I want every single color for my very own (After all I do own every single shadow Urban Decay has put out thus far)! Go ahead and try to stop me from buying all these for my collection! I’m completely in lust and love with these.

Strangely enough I have also read that the lipsticks had an overpowering smell and taste but I didn’t notice either. I did notice a tiny faint perfumed cherry taste to some of the colors where as others had no taste at all.

The shades I tried out were 5150, Voodoo, Gravity, and Hotpants. Out of those four I wasn’t loving Hotpants. Hotpants is a heavy duty frost and I just couldn’t love it since it made my face look full and very round (as if it isn’t all those things already right? yak!).

The other three shades fit me perfectly and were very deep and perfect for fall! 5150 was my favorite. It’s advertised as a coral but I felt like it was a cherry shade! It looks beautiful paired up with pink shadow!

The other two shades that completely captured my heart were Voodoo and Gravity both of which were really deep shades that are completely flattering for the Fall. Voodoo is a deep, dark pink that almost looks maroon where as Gravity is a rich red.

Here are some swatches of each shade! As you can see 5150 does look kinda Coral like in my swatch however it comes out very cherry red on my lips!

Here are some pictures of a MAC lipstick side by side with the new Urban Decay lipstick! You can’t tell all that much but the Urban Decay dwarfs the MAC lipstick! It’s alot heavier as well due to the posh packaging of the Urban Decay lipsticks!

I’m slapping the coveted Muse Approval on these new lipsticks from Urban Decay! They sport beautiful packaging, a gorgeous pigmented, moisturizing formula, and just that little goth dagger alone makes it worth a purchase!
