Which Celebrity is Jumping Into Beauty Next? Scarlett Johansson!

Wondering which celebrity is jumping into beauty world next? There may be a Scarlett Johansson Makeup and Beauty Collection coming our way soon. According to WWD the actress will release an unnamed beauty line early in 2022.

Ive been fascinated by the transformative power of beauty since I was a child. My mother instilled in me a passion for self care from my early teenage years. Several years ago, I took a step back from my beauty deals with the goal of creating something true to me. The result is a clean, accessible approach to beauty, Johansson said in a statement.

Najafi Companies is providing funds for the collection with a smallish budget of 5 to 10 million dollars. It’s pretty much a disposable line at that level of investment in my opinion. Cheaper to make, perhaps higher to sell. We’ll have to see though! I expect something elegant from Scarlett but it may be more along the lines of what we’ve seen from Selena and her Rare Beauty Collection.

The overly saturated market apparently isn’t something her investors are fearing as they expect to grow and expand the line.

I’ve reached a point in my makeup and beauty life that very few things surprise or intrigue me. Scarlett is going to really have to do some major work on this brand to wow me. I don’t hate on Selena at all and I think Rare Beauty is a rather gorgeous line of products but does it knock my socks off? No. Likewise, for Jennifer Lopez’s new skincare line and the endless other celebrities that are apparently really interested in getting into the beauty world at the moment.

As much as we’d all like to think it’s ages to late to jump into something like this the numbers don’t lie and makeup, fragrance, and particularly skincare is still a thriving market.

Let’s hope Scarlett Johansson’s Makeup line brings us something exciting!

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop All Day Mattifying Powder Sold Out Status Boggles My Mind

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop All Day Mattifying Powder is completely sold out at ulta.com and this boggles my mind. Can’t Stop Won’t Stop All Day Mattifying Powder is a new all day matte powder that contains oil-absorbing rice powder and is available in 12 shades. It’s a pretty simple powder in my eyes. Just sheer coverage that you can use alone or over your favorite foundation to extend the wear while keeping oil and shine at bay.

It’s not something we need at the moment as there are literally dozens of powders on the market and all of them pretty much do the same exact thing. My theory? That NYX is piggie backing off of the sudden success of LOreal Infallible 24HR Fresh Wear Foundation In A Powder. As you may know I wrote an article a few weeks about about the power of Tiktok Marketing. It’s absolutely fascinating to see this evolve. Over the course of the last few months marketing has exploded on Tiktok and creators are selling everything from cranberry juice to makeup at a crazy turn around rate. LOreal Infallible 24HR Fresh Wear Foundation In A Powder is not a new product by any means but it exploded over night after a few different creators spoke about it and BAM it was instantly disappearing from shelves at Target and online.

Just when you thought the beauty bubble broken has broken a new social platform offers a revival for many brands desperately seeking a new outlet for sales and a brand new audience for their products. So yeah, NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop All Day Mattifying Powder probably isn’t anything special. I’m sorry NYX! I had to say it. But since it’s been discussed and featured in Tiktok videos it is now in a sold out status at ulta.com.
My brain exploded.

I think in the blogging world and even in the youTube world this powder would be a really hard sell right now. If I featured it, loved it, and recommended it some of you might be tempted to buy it but many of you would probably comment and say, “But muse…we already have dozens of powders just like this!” And I think that sort of feedback would be seen across many platforms but on Tiktok it’s a completely different world. It’s an entirely new audience that hasn’t been as overly exposed to beauty as many of us here on blogs and via youTube.

Pretty interesting isn’t it?

Do I need NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop All Day Mattifying Powder? No. Not only because I have dry skin but also, because I HAVE dozens of powders that do the same exact thing. But most importantly, I’m not so easily swayed By fancy marketing and influencers telling me I absolutely need to try this. We all seen the exceptional success KVD Good Apple Skin-Perfecting Hydrating Foundation Balm did thanks to Tiktok but in reality, we all knew how badly it was! Some of us found out the hard way!

What about you?

Does the fact that something simple like an oil absorbing powder selling out this quickly sort of boggle your mind?

Is the beauty world going to see an uptick?

On Tuesdays We Rant About Make Money Grabbers!

Tarte Lil’ Juicy, Lil’ Bloom, and Lil’ Toasted Eyeshadow Palettes are now available as individual purchases now and you know I’m about to rip into them about this right? It wouldn’t be a good makeup day if we didn’t rant about something am I right?

Tarte Lil’ Juicy, Lil’ Bloom, and Lil’ Toasted Eyeshadow Palettes are the cutest little palettes I ever did see. All three were available in the Tartelette Give, Gift & Get Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Wardrobe that launched with the Tarte Holiday 2020 Collection. I got the set because I really wanted Lil’ Juicy and I even predicted at the time it was a preview of what we’d see for Spring 2021 and quite soon after I said that the Tarte Tartelette Juicy Eyeshadow Palette released.

But….

Things have become a little bit of a cash grab lately with Tarte. We aren’t stupid guys….! First the re-introduction of the new Tarte Tartelette Juicy Eyeshadow Palette that has 12 shades and is priced at $39 compared to the larger one thats $45 with 20 shades. Hmmm…! I like the new unformed size which will go with the rest of my Tartelette Palettes but I’m sad you just didn’t release it this way to begin with.

But the nail in the coffin is the release of these Lil’ Palettes which are $29 each. GUYS…GUYS….the Tartelette Give, Gift & Get Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Wardrobe is still very much available on places like ulta.com! It’s $34 and includes all three of the Lil’ Palettes that you’re trying to sell us on your site for $29 each!

I mean, ok, some people might argue, “Well, I don’t want all three!” Dude, just throw the extra fiver at the threesome and take out the palette or palettes you want and gift the other(s) to a friend. Why would you pay $29 for one when all three are readily available at a much better price! One thing to keep in mind is the original retail for the gift set was $49 and it is now discounted to $34 but even at $49 it’s still a better deal than paying $29 for the one palette you know?

But hey, if that’s what you want, the Tarte Tartelette Lil’ Eyeshadow Palettes are available now.

Without my blessing.

Haha!

What do you think?

I Didn’t Get Any Hand Soups But I Did Get Some Body Mists and Lotions

Ladies and Lads! I’ve come to make my beauty confession today! Forgive me, beauty Gods for I have sinned it’s been two weeks, three days, and 16 hours since my last confession. I don’t know how to say this but after telling my friends here on Musings of a Muse that we should all go on a ban I went to the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale and came out of with a haul. My sense of guilt weights heavy on my soul today and I feel like I’m setting such a poor example for my friends. I feel some relief I didn’t technically haul any candles or hand soups (yeah, you caught my typo on Instagram didn’t ya you little buggers! These hands type a lot faster than my mind thinks).

What did I end up with?

Too much. I expected to get nothing to be honest as let’s be honest here the sale sucks. Or at least the one at my store did. They have two main floor displays at the very front of the stored lined up with the “retired” and “fan favorite fragrances as well as one that contains some of the new ones like Strawberry Soda and Cherry Limeaide. My store is split with White Barn on one side and Bath and Body Works on the other (most all the stores in my area are like this). I’m pretty late with the sale but there weren’t a lot of candles on sale that I wanted. I saw Cookies and Cereal and Salted Pretzel Milkshake but neither were on sale. There was also one huge area at the back that had a good deal of $3 hand soaps.

I ended up with:

  • Strawberry Soda
  • Cherry Limeaide
  • Champagne Sprinkles
  • Firecracker Pop
  • Triple Berry Martini
  • Candied Violet Sorbet

I got misted and body lotions for all of the above. Strawberry Soda is pretty darn realistic! I was quite pleased with that.

What did you haul at the Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale?
