There’s Not $86 Worth of Awesome In Pat Mcgrath Divine Skin Rose 001 The Essence

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Pat Mcgrath Divine Skin Rose 001 The Essence dropped this month and Tiktok is going crazy recommending it to me, my mother, my grandmother, and my great, great twice removed grandmother. I do so love a good viral Tiktok moment that makes me do a mental eye roll. That rolling action where my eyes end up in the back of my skull.

Now, I’m all about admitting the idea of Pat Mcgrath Skincare had me giddy in excitement. Pat Mcgrath is a goddess and a master at her craft but Divine Skin Rose 001 The Essence just isn’t it for me. If Mother releases an eye cream I’m on it like a fly on…well, you know. And yeah, I’d probably jump first and ask questions about the price later on if she does.

But I wasn’t as quick to jump on the Divine Skin Rose 001 The Essence. It’s 3.38 oz in size and $86 bucks and it really doesn’t contain anything to get too hyper about. This formula isn’t even bringing the Hyaluronic Acid. There’s some Ceramide here, some squalane but eh, nothing worth $86 bucks in my opinion. There’s also Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil which is a nice little source of Vit C but it’s pretty far down the list of ingredients.

There’s also some Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract which has some antioxidant benefits but there’s also, rose fragrance to deal with which may or may not be an issue for sensitive users.

In really bad form the marketing on this reads “Breakthrough Bi-Phase Technology”. Guys, a bi-phase essence isn’t breakthrough by any means. It’s supposed to smooth, soften, hydrate, rebalance, and provide a luminous glow. It works “overtime to clinically boost moisture and help replenish the skin barrier”.

No hate on Pat. I worship the ground she walks on but as far as skincare goes this first venture into the category isn’t terribly promising.

I’m disappointed.

Did I Buy All The Benefit Wanderful World Collection Blushes? Yup, Because They Were 25% Off!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

So, I did a thing.

I ordered every single shade from the new Benefit Wanderful World Blush Collection and I’ll probably regret it but they were 25% Off and I’m feeling like I don’t care at the moment! I am almost 99.9% sure I’m going to regret this purchase but I keep reminding myself how wonderful shades like Galifornia and Coralista were and it eased my anxiety that I made a horrible mistake ordering all of these. ASOS has all the shades in stock at the moment and they are 25% off with code HOLIDAY.

I’m just over here trying to relive 2009 when I first swiped Coralista on my face! There has to be at least one good shade in this collection right? RIGHT?

E.L.F. C-Bright Putty Primer Has 2% Vitamin C And I Don’t Care

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Well, sorry, but E.L.F. C-Bright Putty Primer holds no interest for me. E.L.F. is relaunching Poreless Putty Primer yet again with a new formula that contains 2% Vitamin C and I’m sitting here like, “Yeah, I don’t need that but thank you anyway!” The idea of E.L.F. C-Bright Putty Primer is interesting. It’s always fun having a hybrid product that acts as a base and a skincare product. But in reality, I’m not sure 2% Vitamin C is going to do much of anything for your skin.

I’m sure it has the same great formula as Poreless Putty Primer. Poreless Putter Primer is def a nicer version of Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer in my humble opinion. Tatcha’s formula and I never got on! Way too greasy feeling to me but E.L.F.’s formula was just right. I don’t have visible pores but E.L.F.’s formula is great for setting a nice, smooth canvas for makeup. Tatcha’s version always felt oddly oily on me!

I could be grossly wrong about C-Bright Putty Primer but I dunno if 2% vitamin C is going to do much for your skin. Just use your regular Vitamin C daily for the best benefits and don’t rely on your primer to do the job for you. Like I said above I love the idea of products like this but in most cases, they are a one-trick pony!

E.L.F. has been going a little too crazy with this formula in my opinion. You have a solid product, guys! No need to introduce all these variations of it! I think they have an illuminating one now, a color correcting one…. It’s just so overkill!

But hey, if E.L.F. C-Bright Putty Primer interests you it’s available now!

Is NARS Going Out of Business or Are They Simply Repackaging?

I know NARS recently had a 20% Off Friends and Family Sale but literally, all their stock is depleted at the moment. Ok, so, supply issues are a real problem in the beauty world at the moment and it’s literally forcing smaller brands out of business but how are our big guys doing?

I get a little nervous and antsy when I see big brands like NARS with so little stock in their general catalog. I mean, this could mean they are about to repackage things. That’s a very real possibility. It’s probably a little too early to get nervous about them potentially going out of business but I have to admit I get a little concerned when I see their shelves so low on stock. Foundations, blushes, concealers, and many of their general items are all out of stock.

I do wonder if it was just the sale or if something else is up at NARS.

Let me know what you think about the inventory issues at NARS.

Should we be nervous? Or is this just a supply or ingredient issue due to the pandemic?
