It’s National Lash Day at Ulta An Excuse for Me To Apply Falsies (Especially the Shu Feather Ones)

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I readily admit that I do have a pair of Shu Uemura Feather Lashes that I purchased years ago and never wore. I’m saving them for some big event. I felt very sure I would remove them out of their safe spot in my vanity drawer for a Murder Mystery Party before COVID hit. The Murder Mystery Party happened but the lashes never did come out to play! But I swear today I am somewhat tempted to haul them out and wear them while I work. Why the hell not? I just gotta remember not to wear them on any Zoom Meetings because surely people will think I finally lost my mind after this much lock down. Either that or they’ll compliment me about how amazingly gorgeous I look. Yeah, sure, more like dorky.

It’s National Lash Day today and I gotta be real here a second….if we had to choose any holiday to represent the Beauty Community would you choose lashes? I mean, we do have National Lipstick Day but National Lash Day? We need National Blush Day and National Eyeshadow Day and National Appreciate Your Blogger Day (that last one is deliciously selfish haha). Hell we have so many Holidays lately maybe those already exsist.

But Lash Day has benefits as it means Ulta has a sale. They are celebrating with tons of deals on mascara, false lashes, and goodies. Now is a good time to stock up on your favorite mascaras!

One of my favs is on sale Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara for $3.49.

You can also choose one of three Sampler Sets if you spend $70. These deluxe sets include an assortment of mascaras and false lashes.

The Ulta National Lash Day sale is on through Feb 21st.

Enjoy!

Happy Friday!

A Short Girl Living in a Tall World

You ever make really late night purchases when you’re half asleep only to regret them later? I did that recently with a pair of leggings. You see, if you’re as basic as I am your leggings come out to play in September and you start pairing them up with bulky sweaters and Uggs or some ballet flats. And you run around like this from September to late November gripping a grande PSL in your hand. That’s actually my weekend uniform! I love a really comfy pair of leggings with a soft sweater!

During the week I typically wear a suit to work with a cami that matches my any number of Converse but on the weekend I’m all about comfort. But those days seem long ago and the pandemic has made September through November leggings a year round event.

If you’re anything like me and you’re short you probably made many a legging purchase that did not work out for you. For example, my recent late night purchase must have been done when I was drunk (and I don’t even drink) because I ordered a pair of leggings on a blind buy because the description didn’t give me the length and I got them and I’m almost positive that I can make another pair of leggings from them.

Short girl problems though….it’s a thing.

I’m just saying if you don’t list the length of your leggings in the description the government should step in and fine you for it. These things were like 28 inches long! Dude…dude….! Seriously now! But fact of the matter is finding leggings for short girls is a challenge as they are all pretty much made for tall girls. I’ve just started buying Capri leggings and wearing them as regular leggings sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t!

I think the lack of short girl leggings is appalling and needs to be addressed. Who do I write to about this? The President? The fashion police? Bless her soul if she was alive, Joan Rivers? Karl Lagerfeld? Surely not as he’s equally dead and also, likely a hater of leggings and short, fluffy girls like me. Where do I complain? I need to start a revolution!

Also, let’s just complain about too high grocery shelves while we’re at it. I hate waiting in an aisle for a tall person to pass by and proceed to ask them, “Can you reach that for me?”

Short little ladies where do you buy your leggings?

Help your fellow short sister out 🙂

P.S. If it’s any help at all I’ve actually purchased the No Boundaries ones from the teen section at the Evil Empire and they actually sometimes work out a treat!

10 Things You Need from Target Right Now

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Target is like a vortex! It sucks you in and spits you out three hours later and you’re left wondering why your wallet is lighter and your day is nearly over. I miss wasting an hour or two or three at Target. This curbside thing sucks!

I guess the next best thing is shopping Target online! Here are 10 things you might need from Target right now.

Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Be Brave Wall Sign $5.99
This little Be Brave sign hangs in my mud room so I can look at it anytime I go outside. Last year was tough on us all! I’m an extrovert that’s never had any sense of anxiety. Nowadays, well, I get a little anxious when I go out! I guess it’s normal to feel that way but it’s also an unusual feeling for me! It’s just a sign but I like to look at it before I leave the house! It gives me a little confidence and push to be brave and get out there. Sometimes we need gentle, little reminders.

Threshold Caramel Latte Scented Wax Melts $1.99
Oh Jesus! Threshold has wax melts! Take all my money! I grabbed up a pack of these online last week and I’m in love. They smell good enough to eat (or drink)! Totally a perfect cozy scent to melt while snuggling on the couch!

Opalhouse Carrot and Pom Garland $12
Do your decorate for Easter? Tomorrow’s Fast Tuesday! How did that happen? Soon we’ll be decorating for Easter. This cute little carrot garland sure would look adorable on my downstairs fireplace!

Garnier Whole Blends Miracle Frizz Tamer 10-in-1 Coconut Leave-In Treatment $6.49
I’ve been using Kristin Ess Frizz Management Cleansing Co-Wash and it’s amazingggggg! It makes my curls so smooth and refined! But I ran out last week and for some reason Target had nada available for pick up so I got some of this Garnier Whole Blends Miracle Frizz Tamer 10-in-1 Coconut Leave-In Treatment and it isn’t Kristen Ess but it sure is nice for taming frizz and hydrating my hair! I mist it in after my shower, comb through, and it does a fairly nice job taming any frizz as my hair dries down!

Winky Lux Wakey Wakey Eye Cream $31
Winky Lux has an entire range of skincare at Target now and of course, the eye cream was the first thing that got me! This hydrating eye cream promises a formula infused with hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and caffeine to hydrate, brighten, and depuff eyes!

Winky Lux Neapolitan Lip Balm $18
Speaking of Winky Lux a new Neapolitan Ice Cream inspired tri-colored lip balm that hydrate lips and gives a sheer hint of of pink tint!

Wake Up, Makeup, Time to Monday

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

As they say no rest for the weary or is it no rest for the wicked? I’m both so I’m good. Hehe!

Wake up friends! Makeup! Time to Monday! It’s President’s Day but truly there is no rest for the weary! I was up at and it early this AM! Jumped on the Peloton and let Jenn Sherman kick my ass for 20 minutes. Actually, I lied there was technically no jumping evolved there was me leaning over struggling to snap myself into the pedals because that sh1t is hard! After over a year of this you’d think I know how to do it by now. I’m waiting for the moment where I tumble over onto the ground while attempting it. I actually hope that happens so I can pull a dramatic “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!”

I have to work today because it’s renewal season at work and that translates as busy, busy, busy! Being self-employed means I have to be an adult about day’s off and working on President’s Day is the adult thing to do.

You know how I feel about working from home! Makeup is a must! It was tempting to have a shower and slip into my PJs after my workout but I got dressed and did my makeup! And it looks pretty! I used the Tarte Tartelette Juicy Eyeshadow Palette. Did anyone get their hands on it yet or is everyone waiting for a good sale?

Makeup just makes things feel a bit more normal when they are far from it!

I did a really cutesy look by doing a color wash with the lightest bone shade all over my eyelid and just using the brightest pink on the outer corner of my eye. I’ll post a pic later on IG! I thought it came out sweet.

Are you wearing makeup this fine Monday morning? What’s on your face?

Some beauty I’m loving at the moment:

  • Tony Moly Timeless Ferment Snail Eye Cream-This is magical out of my skincare fridge! So cooling and sinks right in! It’s very hydrating!
  • Replica Bubble Bath Perfume-I know some of you didn’t love this but I adore it. It’s such a relaxing, spa-like fragrance! Very delicate and pretty!
  • Mugler Angel Nova-Oh my gosh this turned out better than I expected! I was thinking it would be dark but it’s actually sweet and fruity! Mugler sent me over a bottle last week and I’m still testing it out but I’ll review soon for you!
  • La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP + Body Cream-It’s cold out which makes my dry skin even drier! I’ve been loving La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP which can be used on your body or your face. I actually use a small pea size amount as soon as I get out of the shower on my face when my skin is still wet and it hydrates my face so well! All dryness eased and erased!
  • Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Foundation-I feel like I’ve finally found my HG foundation in this formula as I use it so often. It’s lightweight, creamy, and blends like a dream not to mention it looks so natural and seamless!

Let me know how your Monday is going!

Have a good, productive day!
