Laura Mercier The Caviar Vault Eye Colour A Tried and True Collection Formula

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

The Laura Mercier The Caviar Vault Eye Colour Collection for Holiday 2019 arrived at macys.com over the weekend and I can’t help but secretly cross my fingers that some good sale comes up sooner or later on it. Granted, I’ll probably buy it at anyway but I’m ever always hoping for a sale since we’ve been conditioned to not buy makeup at full-price.

This weekend, September 14th, you’ll be able to shop Laura Mercier’s Caviar du Jour Caviar Chrome Mini Set ($39) during the Sephora Holiday 2019 Rouge Event Preview. This set includes four mini Caviar Stick Eyeshadows in Magnetic Pink, Intense Moonlight, Metallic Taupe, and Intense Amethyst which are 0.03 oz each. It’s sort of a tradition for me to purchase the mini set every year. I tend to get a lot of use out of these as they are great for one and done eye looks or to use as a compliment to powder eyeshadows as a base. They never disappoint either. The formula remains very consistent! Creamy, easy to blend, and pigmented! I cannot tell a lie though! Mally’s EverColor Shadow Sticks are fab too and I miss the days she did large gift sets featuring 8 or more shades!

But one thing about Laura Mercier you can always count on her as being consistent with her gift sets as the quality is always on par with the larger sizes. In the case of this new, limited edition Caviar Vault Eye Colour Collection you don’t have to worry about minis. There are 10 full-size Caviar Eye Colour Sticks in this set that if you purchased them separately would cost you $290 but are marked at $200 in this Holiday Gift Set. It’s a lot to spend in one go but if you really love this formula it sure is a deal.

Shades:

  • Vanilla Kiss
  • Sandglow
  • Tuxedo
  • Rosegold
  • Moonlight
  • Cocoa
  • Au Natural
  • Amethyst
  • Orchid
  • Blossom

Too Faced Holiday 2019 Contains All The Spicy Gingerbread Goodies Your Makeup Loving Self Can Handle

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Too Faced Holiday 2019 is available today along with the new Gingerbread Extra Spicy Eyeshadow Palette that everyone is so excited about. But let’s just stop a second and squeal over the cuter, smaller Hot Buttered Rum Palette! I need it in my life! I always love tans and caramel shades versus traditional brown nudes and this palette has a bunch of ’em! Last year, the Tickled Peach Eyeshadow Palette that launched with Too Faced Holiday 2018 delighted me so, I have a funny feeling the Hot Buttered Rum Palette is going to be just as fun!

The collection is available today at toofaced.com, sephora.com, and ulta.com!

We already got a little sneak peek of Too Faced Holiday 2019 when the Sephora Holiday 2019 Rouge Event details were launched. On September 14th, you’ll be able to snag the Too Faced Christmas Cookie House Party Set and I imagine the rest of the holiday collection will be available soon after!

I have to say that I’ve been disappointed by Too Faced offerings in the past but lately they have really stepped up their game and a lot of the stuff they have launched is not only fun but fairly good quality so, I am looking forward to their Holiday 2019 Collection!

Let’s peek Too Faced Holiday 2019 and see if we need anything!

Colourpop Truly Madly Deeply Pressed Powder Eyeshadow Palette But Damn Those Pressed Glitters

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Colourpop Truly Madly Deeply Pressed Powder Eyeshadow Palette arrived yesterday at ulta.com and I so want it but damn those pressed glitters. Sure, Fall is on the way but I can so get on board with a pretty pink palette and that’s exactly what the Truly Madly Deeply Eyeshadow Palette brings to the table.

First off, I think this is an Ulta Exclusive and if that’s the case Yay Ulta! Sephora carried Colourpop for a really brief flash in the pan moment but I’m happy to see that Ulta still carries the brand and they even keep add more items like recently released Lip Crayons (which ARE AWESOME). Granted, they tend to carry only a few shades of a product where as purchasing from Colourpop you’ll get a huge array of shades. But it’s still nice having access to Colourpop at Ulta.

The palette looks really pretty. I’m quite in love the assortment of peachy pinks and mauves. However, it contains Pressed Glitters. WHY!?!? WHYYYYYYYYYYYY!? It looks like there about five in here maybe more out of a total of 12 shades. I think Colourpop needs to just stop with the Pressed Glitters. They would be better of spending time on creating a sparkly eyeshadow formula rather than putting in these unsafe for eye glitters that are super chunky, gritty, and a pain to apply without having mega fall out everywhere. For anyone who hasn’t tried the glitters in the past they are very loosely packed with a gel-like consistency! They remind me of Wet n Wild’s Halloween Palettes! The formula is a pain because it gets everywhere and reminds me of craft glitter. A better option would be to include some sparkly eyeshadows. These Pressed Glitters are not meant for use on the eyes because they do have a chunkier formula and could cause irritation or god forbid cuts.

At $23 I’d have purchased this in a heart beat as it’s fairly affordable and the shade range is gorgeous but the Pressed Glitters have me shaking my head no.

What do you think of the Colourpop Truly Madly Deeply Pressed Powder Eyeshadow Palette?

Tarte Treasures Collector’s Set for Holiday 2019 Isn’t Quite The Blush Book I Expected

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Tarte Treasures Collector’s Set for Holiday 2019 arrived last night and it’s not quite the Blush Book I was expecting. It’s September and as tradition would have Tarte as been known to launch a Blush Book that typically includes eight to ten full-size blush shades. Actually, last year, the Big Blush Book launched in August for Loyalty Members and later in September became available for everyone else. The first time they launched that palette it sold out mighty fast but I was slightly disappointed it failed to sell out the last two years or so. That could be the reason we don’t see it returning this year but maybe if we’re lucky we’ll get something along the lines of the Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Color Wheel or the Blush Bliss Palette as I feel like these are so much more easier to store and the quality does seem a tiny bit better compared to the massive Blush Books!

Anyway, the Tarte Treasures Collector’s Set is the second item we are seeing from the Tarte Holiday 2019 Collection. The other item is releasing this weekend during the Sephora Holiday 2019 Rouge Event which is the Winter Wonderglam Luxe Eye Palette. There’s also an early QVC Today’s Special Value called the Twice as Nice 10-Piece Collectors Gift Set that popped up. I think one of the more interesting aspects about the Holidays this year is the fact that Fall Collections have sort of been pushed to the sidelines and we just jumped right into Holiday. That’s sort of sad.

Update: Thanks to Denise for pointing out this is actually available as part of the second shipment in the QVC Today’s Special Value Set! Which is a better deal than spending $49 on it from Tarte as that set includes a full-size foundation, lipglosses, and more!

None the less, the Tarte Treasures Collector’s Set is here now and here are the deets!
