5 stars out of 5

Physicians Formula The Perfect Matcha 3-in-1 Melting Cleansing Balm ($12.99) is a new drugstore cleansing balm that’s enriched with matcha green tea to gently remove makeup while leaving skin hydrated and soft.

I wrote in a prior post that the birth of cleansing balms in US drugstores seems to be upon us finally. I think with this launch we’ll see more and more drugstore brands bringing out their version. By January, I have no doubt that Burt’s Bees, Garnier, and others will likely have cleansing balms ready for market. It’s not that we haven’t seen a few already but I think more mainstream brands will start bringing them out soon! Already the Pond’s Cleansing Balm I reviewed a few weeks ago is gaining a ton of good reviews which has me hopeful for more drugstore brand cleansing balms to make an appearance!

Physicians Formula seems to be very focused on skincare launches lately aren’t they? Aside from their 80th Anniversary Collection (Remember the Hypoallergenic Lipsticks they launched?) their color cosmetics and base foundation product launches have been a little slow and there skincare ones quite prominent. So far, a lot of their newer skincare products like Coconut Milk Eye Makeup Remover, Charcoal Detox Cleansing Stick, and Rose All Day Oil-Free Serum really has impressed me which did give me some reservations about the new The Perfect Matcha 3-in-1 Melting Cleansing Balm. You know the old saying fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I’ve been fooled plenty 🙂 But I’m always up for the challenge!

Sometimes You Have Dry Lips and Those Times You’ll Want Trader Joe’s Lip Treatment Duo Around

Trader Joe’s Lip Treatment Duo Lip Scrub and Lip Balm (with Sunscreen) ($3.99) is around to get you through the cold, harsh Winter ahead my dear friends! Trader Joe’s actually a mecca for cutesy beauty picks ups lately from cleansing oil to facial masks and even body lotions and potions they have been very quietly expanding their little beauty section and offering up cheap, inexpensive, yet really fun and effective picks that are perfect stocking stuffers.

While heading out to Trader Joe’s this week to stockpile Jingle Jangle (no, not the Riverdale drug but probably more addicting) I decided I’d pick up a few of these little Lip Treatment Duos for stocking stuffers and of course, one for myself.

They actually aren’t a new product as I tried one last year but I’m not sure if they are seasonal as since that time I never did see it again at my local TJ’s (until recently)!

I’m a Chump and Purchased Glamglow Good In Bed

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Glamglow Good in Bed Passionfruit Softening Night Cream ($54) launched yesterday and of course, like the chump I am, I purchased it. I blame marketing! All the promises of softer, smoother skin had me.

I actually never learn obviously as last year I purchased Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream as soon as it launched and while a really nice moisturizing I never felt it did anything dramatically different or amazing to my skin. Shrug.

I’m likening this formula to Drunk Elephant’s as it not only performs the function of a night cream but also has gently skin exfoliating benefits as well that addresses dry, uneven skin texture in the form of AHA, BHA, and PHA acids. It also has hyaluronic acid to plump skin.

I think the ingredients aren’t super impressive from what I’ve seen as many of the acids and hyaluronic acid is a little lower on the list. it does contain a host of moisturizing seed and avocado oils. But there are a few ingredients some of us choose to avoid such as fragrance and limonene.

I just had that damn $25 off $75 Reward burning a hole in my pocket and this seemed like a good place to go with. Will I regret? Probably.

Let’s see how it goes!

I’ll let you know 🙂

Glamglow Good in Bed Passionfruit Softening Night Cream is available now at Sephora.

Huda Beauty Power Bullet Metallic Lipstick For Sparkly Holiday Lips

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Huda Beauty Power Bullet Metallic Lipstick ($21) has launched just in time for the Holiday season in thee sparkly shades. These glitter-infused lipsticks are available in three limited edition shades (that purple is sure to grab many an eye).

Apparently the lipstick’s formula creates a loose glitter lip look effect without the messy fall out. Realistically you can probably create a look like this using a loose glitter pigment from NYX or MAC but I do wonder if the hold is a little better with Huda’s formula.

These have an easy glide according to the marketing thanks to Brazilian nut and sweet almond oils giving them a soft texture.

I always a little wary going into glitter or metallic lipstick formulas since they can be a little rough on lips or they look to frosty and robotic on me. But I really loved Too Faced’s Throwback Lipsticks so, I’m kinda hoping for some of the same from Huda!
