E.L.F. Correct & Set Under Eye Powder Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

E.L.F. Correct & Set Under Eye Powder ($4) is a fairly new loose color correcting powder available in three shades that can be used to set or bake concealer. As you may know I’m an avid user of banana powders for setting my concealer. I don’t bake but I do add a light dusting of powder under my eyes to set my concealer and also to brighten the area up. Banana is one of my go to shades and I’ve used Ben Nye Banana Powder for several users now and it remains a formula I go back to time and time again.

It’s a weird thing because for many years I would not apply powder under my eyes. My eyes are already dry and adding powder seemed like a bad idea. A reader actually convinced me a little light dusting really makes a major difference in how your concealer looks and wears. She was right to say the least. A little goes a long way at keeping my concealer long wearing plus yellow really brightens up the entire eye area dramatically

Bath & Body Works Face Sheet Mask A Not as Bad as I Thought Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

As you may already know there’s a new collection of Bath & Body Works Face Sheet Masks that launched recently in stores and online. As you may know I am an avid user of Korean and Taiwanese facial sheet masks. They are very much apart of my daily skincare routine and they are part of the reason my skin is smooth and well hydrated. I have long since bemoaned the fact that there are no affordable facial sheet masks in the US. The Asian market is heavily saturated with a variety of brands and formulas that will run you around $8 to $12 for a box or ten or more masks.

The good news is that more and more US brands such as Garnier, Yes To, Burt’s Bees, etc…have introduced a slew of different face masks at the drugstore. Not to mention many brands from Asia are now easily accessible at places like Target and Ulta. And as we head deeper into the Summer months we’ll see even more brands like Flower Beauty and Olay introducing facial masks.

But I admit after trying many, many US brand facial masks I always revert back to Asian ones. I feel like Asia has perfect the sheet mask. Formulas here in the US are uneventful not to mention I’ve run across many ill fitting masks from US brands. I see actual results from Korean and Taiwanese ones I know, love, and use daily but I can’t say I see the same visible results from ones I’ve used from brands here in the US.

When Bath & Body Works introduced a selection of Sheet Masks I did scoff at the idea. The first thing to enter my head was how heavily fragranced they’d be. Because, hey, it’s Bath & Body Works right? Turns out the two I tried had absolutely no scent at all. Not to mention they do contain some fairly good ingredients.

Flower Beauty Mix n’ Matte Lip Duo Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Flower Beauty Mix n’ Matte Lip Duo ($10) is a new lipstick and lipgloss duo that’s available in seven shade selections which launched for the Spring 2018 season. The duo provides you with a creamy matte lipstick and a matching pearlized gloss that allows you to mix and match to create a variety of different looks.

I’m not much of a matte lipstick fan but I decided to check these out in the hopes they would be as lovely as the Tarte The Lip Sculptor Lipstick & Lipgloss which I love. I felt comfortable purchasing the matte formula as well since they came with a gloss. Lord knows my favorite way to wear matte and completely to defeat the point of the finish is by wearing lipgloss on top and these provided a gloss to go along with the matte lipstick so I was set.

Pur Pillow Blend Silicone Applicator Tools Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Pur Pillow Blend Collection is a 4 piece set of silicone applicator tools that are available in a set for $39 that launched with the Pur Cosmetics Spring 2018 Collection.

I thought these were interesting enough to purchase as the basically mimic the use of the Silicone Makeup Blender that was making the rounds across social media and youTube a year or so ago. I’m probably one of the few people that still uses my fingers to apply foundation. I’m a swipe on and blend with my fingers type of girl, no special tools required. Although from time to time I do like using certain brushes from my collection like the Artis Elite Oval 8 and Real Techniques Blend + Blur Brushes to get that perfect flawless finish. But for the most part, I’m always just blending and patting with my fingers. I’m also probably one of the few who hasn’t tried out a Silicone Makeup Blender as of yet which made for a good excuse to purchase the Pur Cosmetics Pillow Blend Collection as it brought together the silicone makeup blender technology along with handles to make for what appeared to be easy application of creams, concealers, etc…!
