4 stars out of 5

E.L.F. Cosmetics Jelly Pop Juicy Gloss ($5) are a new, glossy jelly lipgloss that launched with the new E.L.F. Jelly Pop Summer 2019 Collection in four translucent shades. I purchased these instantly because they remind me of the old Majolica Majorca Honey Plump Gloss Neo and Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lipgloss which I miss so hard and so much. Ugh I mourn the loss of that lipgloss daily.

You see, I really like icky, gooey, shiny, thick lipglosses like this. Ones that don’t really provide a ton of color but do give lips that super juicy, glossy look! I was hopefuly Colourpop So Juicy Plumping Gloss would swoop in and save me from the melancholy I still feel for the loss of Mirror Mirror Lipgloss but sadly, I found them a bit too thick and sticky.

So, all my hopes are pinned on E.L.F. Jelly Pop Juicy Gloss!

So far, I’ve had mixed results with the Jelly Pop Collection! It’s been a hit or miss experience! I liked the Jelly Pop Dew Primer and Jelly Pop Watermelon Cleanser but I had mixed feelings about the Jelly Pop Water Gel Moisturizer! I think it’s a cute Summer collection but it might not be a collection that you find staple products in unless you have oily skin. For now, in the warmer weather it might be fun to use but I imagine come Winter you’ll want something way more moisturizing.

Anyway, that’s really neither here nor there since this is about the Jelly Pop Juicy Gloss which happens to one of the two cosmetic items launched in this collection. The other is a Jelly Pop Flush Blush which I’ll review soon!

Jelly Pop Juicy Gloss housed an astonishingly 0.37 oz of lipgloss in a rather tiny little squeeze tube which has slanted applicator for application. There are four shades to choose from and each is $5. I picked up two of the four shades and both look almost the same on my lips as the color is sheer with a hint of color.

This isn’t for anyone that’s not keen on super glossy glosses that have thick textures. This formula has a thicker gel-like texture that makes itself very known on lips! In other words, it’s not a lightweight formula. It does have a stronger watermelon fragrance and flavor as well that does linger. The flavor didn’t bother me at all and sort of reminded me of old time lip tints and glosses from brands like Bonne Bell and Naturistics. It feels pleasantly hydrating on my lips through the wear which is around three to four hours. It has a very intense, high-shine finish and looks great alone or over lipstick or lip tint. It is however, very thick (but only mildly sticky) and you might find yourself pulling your hair from your lips on a windy day! Yak! That’s never fun! The formula is sheerer but there is a hint of tint which doesn’t leave completely devoid of color. If you want color plus the shine factor I’d highly recommend checking out Ulta’s Jelly Gloss Lip Gel!

All in all, if thicker, juicy lipglosses are your thing this formula should be a hit! I liked it but I realize it won’t prove a great pick for everyone.

E.L.F. Jelly Pop Juicy Gloss is a new lipgloss available in four shades that’s 0.37 oz and $5. I really liked this formula but it’s something everyone will love. It’s a very thick jelly-like lipgloss with a high shine finish that’s thick and mildly sticky with a wear of around four hours. It feels very hydrating on my drier lips and gives them a hint of tint with a nice glossy finish. However, the thicker texture might be an issue for some as well as the strong watermelon fragrance and flavor!

Pros

  • Very shiny.
  • Very hydrating.
  • Budget friendly.
  • Great packaging.

Cons

  • Thicker formula, not lightweight.
  • Heavy fragrance and lingering flavor.

Who

E.L.F. Jelly Pop Juicy Gloss should be a great pick for those with drier lips that don’t mind a thicker gloss!

Thanks for the review! The glosses look amazing. I’m sorry if I missed it, but do these glosses have glitter/shimmer in them? I’m interested in CHERRY POP! ☺️
