Did You Haul Hard at the Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale or Did You Hardly Haul?

Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale is almost over (and Victoria’s Secret started a little late)! Can you believe the month is almost up? How did it fly by that quickly? The days run together sometimes I swear.

Well, Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale is as disappointing as ever! I really didn’t indulge much! Did you? I got their Semi-Annual Exclusives which were Whipped Coconut Milkshake and Fruity Sherbet Scoop! I liked Fruity Sherbet Scoop! It was fun! I don’t need any backups of it but I enjoyed it. Whipped Coconut Milkshake wasn’t really my thing. It was very weak, didn’t smell like the vanilla coconut milkshake I was expecting, and just felt like I was misting myself with water. I sort of wish they brought back Cinnamon Sugar Donut!

One scent that did stick out was Vanilla Mocha Martini! I got two lotions and two mists as I really loved it. I think it was some left over stock from Holiday 2023? Correct me if I’m wrong! But it’s a really nice chocolate, coffee, vanilla fragrance. Quite yummy.

Sadly, as we’ve discussed many, many times in the past the sale simply isn’t what it used to me. The sale is very calculated now and it’s rare they are just tossing things into big yellow bins and marking them down. I remember the sale as a big old chaotic mess of goodness. Years back it was like they just cleared out their entire back room and put it in a bunch of bins. Now the sale is very, very organized. My store has most of the sale items neatly lined on shelves with only a few bins around. And the sale doesn’t take up much of the store’s floor space either. It’s typically one center rack of sale items and three to six bins on another table.

I also remember when they were doing weekly deals which didn’t seem to happen this year. Each week or every few days they’d feature one item on sale for a limited time. I always found this frustrating as you’d have to go to the store to get the deal before it ended. I just want to do one big haul. Don’t keep calling me back to the store every other day for a new sale item.

As always, they do have early Fall 2023 Candles in store to tempt you as you shop the sale. But anyone who pays full price for a Bath and Body Works Candle must be criminally insane. Why they think any of us would indulge at full price is beyond me. I actually didn’t even sniff any of them because it’s a lot of rehash with new labels.

How’d you do at this years sale? Did you stock up on anything or was a it a bust?

I am still waiting on my online order. I wanted to try Disco Daydream only based on packaging because it reminded me of Vera Bradley handbags. Some of the items were out of stock after I placed the order though. That’s happened to me twice this year. The sale doesn’t seem as exciting because it’s just them highlighting the limited edition SAS scents and I’d like a deal on some longtime faves like Into the Night. Also, some of my items from previous hauls start to go bad before I can use them up so it has me reconsidering how much I spend when realistically I can’t use them all.

I know! Same here! Lotions and body creams expire fast I noticed! And yeah, I’d like some staples on sale but really, I prob don’t need them anyway! Disco Dream I liked the packaging too but wasn’t so into the scent :-/

Nah, I’m not shopping the sale. I’m down to three BBW hand soaps, but I’ll wait till fall soaps come out with a sale plus a coupon ideally. If I run out before that happens I have Mrs. Myers hand soaps to tide me over. I probably won’t buy any candles until September and they should have more fall selection, again with sale+coupon. If I ever buy anything from BBW full price I’ll ask someone to take my temperature, because I must be in a feverish delusion.

my hand soap collection is out of control. I stopped buying them as I have enough to get me through a few lives. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL same! same!

I miss the olden days when the SAS really was a big back room clean-out. I could find all kinds of goodies in those bins. I have an unhealthy-sized collection of candle holders from hitting up the SAS over the years!

I’m probably in the minority here, but I really miss the special non-BBW branded collections that they used to carry. Specifically Les Couvents des Minimes…they had the best hand cream that smelled like honey. I loved that stuff.

I’m sure the good old days aren’t coming back, but I do so wish BBW would move away from their generic scents and product lines a bit and bring back some special, unique stuff here and there.

exactly! You’d get Fall, Halloween, Christmas, old old old vintage scents that were stuck on a shelf somewhere. It was an awesome free for all! Me too! CO Bigelow! I miss that stuff! 😀

Yasss! I used to glob on their mentha lip gloss like there was no tomorrow. Lol.

haaaa same! I still have some (Not that I’d use them). They were fun! They had seasonal ones all the time! OMG I miss those days!

muse we are so the same! i bought the coconut milkshake lotion and body spray. it is too light and more amber fragrance than coconut on me. i use it and mix it with other stuff. the best was when they had the coconut cream pie! i am using up what i have because being a year old it is starting to turn. but that stuff was the BEST.
i also bought a santorini candle for my sis (she is going to greece, it is a good gift) and a few wakiki beach wallflowers. and a boardwalk cone hand soap just for fun.
Agree, not much to crow about!
    Bring on the halloween goodies!

I got sort of coconut milk from it but no amber sadly. I def love coconut cream pie! Much stronger too! Yasss but Halloween looks a little boring so far. I hope it gets better!

I didn’t buy anything! I have put myself on a moratorium from buying things as I have way too much B&BW right now. I buy candles at 1/2 price and have a big stockpile. The number of body mists I have is downright embarrassing. And I buy hand soaps on huge sale and have them shipped to my grandchildren, who use them. They like the “graphic” labels and so I look for cute ones of those with a scent I think would be nice. I was not aware that the lotions and creams went bad–I’d better get crackin’ using some of those up.

SAME! I just had to pause it was too much! And yes, the body creams and lotions get a bit funky after several months to a year!
