L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Ink for Spring 2019

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Ink ($11.99) is a new matte lip ink that’s launching in 12 shade selections for Spring 2019 at drugstores. I’m a little weary of these as they do promise a matte, weightless finish that has a stain-like effect but for me it’s just another round of long-wearing lipsticks which I’ve been trying to get away from for the last several years. I’m also a little concerned they’ll be as poorly formulated as the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink which got rave reviews but I felt like they were draining the moisture from my very soul.

I used to love lip stains several years ago! Anyone remember Morgen Schick? She was queen of cheek and lip stains in my humblest opinion! I’m not why I was so into stains but they were just my thing! I still love cheek stain to this day.

But I really don’t think products like L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Ink are traditional lip stains. For me, they are just another long-wearing liquid lipstick formula and don’t really capture the essence of a true lip stain.

None the less, here they are and the promise of lightweight, comfortable, and a non-drying formula does sound great! I’ll be checking them out and letting you know what I think!

If you tried them already do share!

Burt’s Bees Liquid Lipstick Not Perfect But Can Be With a Little Work

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
4 stars out of 5

Burt’s Bees Liquid Lipstick ($9.99) is a new moisturizing liquid lipstick formula available in six shades that launched a few short weeks ago. As you know I’m not a huge fan of liquid lipsticks but Burt’s formula actually leans towards a glossy liquid lipstick and that totally caught my attention. If it isn’t matte, I’m all over it as I’m quite tired of matte lipsticks. I do think there have been some good strides this year in the creation of more glossy lipstick formulas. Products like Milani Amore Shine Liquid Lip Color, L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipstick, NYX Slip Tease Lip Lacquer, and Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick have restored my faith that makeup brands are actually listening to us and know we don’t want more matte lipsticks (or at least I don’t)!

Burt’s Bees Liquid Lipstick is one of those formulas you have to doctor up a little bit to get them looking great. At $10 each they are a little expensive to doctor up. I’m definitely one of those people that wants makeup to work right out of the package. I don’t really want to bring in other items from my own collection to get them to work out you now? But in some cases, like this one, I don’t mind so much.

Here’s why.

Fun and Inexpensive Fragrance Roll-Ons from Butter Toki to Gift and To Get

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Need some fun, festive, gourmand fragrances for Holiday gifts? Look no further than Butter Toki’s Etsy’s shop that features a wide variety of perfume roll-ons that will set you back a mere $10 bucks (some of the Fall ones are $6). The shop actually carries a range of full-size perfumes as well as body creams and washes but my truest love from them is their yummy roll-ons which are strong, long-wearing, and easy to apply.

There Holiday Collection includes scents like Santa’s Sugar Cookies, Candy Cane Frosting, and The Gingerbread Man! They also have a wide array of other fun sweet scents like Grape Soda, Strawberry Milkshake, Fruit Punch and more.

There Holiday Shipping Schedule is still live as well (order by December 15th to get it in time for Christmas)! If you’re looking for some stocking stuffers or gifts do check this shop out. And please, get yourself a roll-on of Pumpkin French Toast because it smells positively delicious!

Have you purchased anyone on your list a fragrance gift this year?

Whatcha get them?

Too Faced Pretty Rich Diamond Light Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post but all opinions are my own.
2 stars out of 5

Too Faced Pretty Rich Diamond Light Eyeshadow Palette ($49) is a new 16 shade eyeshadow palette inspired by the beauty of real diamonds. This caught my eye because it has a range of sparkly glitter toppers that I thought would layer nicely with the other shades in the palette.

I do not like to bring politics and personal feelings or opinions into makeup reviews and on my blog but the launch of the Too Faced Spring 2019 Collection comes with some controversy and drama which needs to be addressed prior to my review. It’s an important topic and I don’t want to offend or hurt anyone by reviewing this product. I was actually looking forward to it prior to Jerrod Blandino’s really poor behavior on Instagram. That being said I did get requests to review this palette and I was torn whether I wanted to write the review or not. I do not agree with Jerrod’s behavior recently nor his behavior in the past and I believe he needs to step back from social media as he’s notorious for behaving poorly.

This being said, I choose to review the palette in the end due to the amount of requests to hear about it. This review does not reflect my personal feelings, opinions, or thoughts on Jerrod’s recent behavior. Just know that I do not agree with what he did nor do I agree with the way he apologized. In years to come, our children and our children’s children will be reading about the Black Lives Matter Movement in history books. It is and will become part of US history. And it is not something to be taken lightly or joked about in offhanded ways.

I hope we can keep comments and discussion about the palette civil and friendly. And now after all that heaviness, let’s move forward with this review.
