Sephora Moisturizing Cream and Gel Tins Unsanitary but Oh So Cute!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

You can blame Steam Cream for my obsession with moisturizers that come in a tin that’s why these new Sephora Moisturizing Cream and Moisturizing Gel Tins are so damn appealing!

Actually, if I think back on you can probably blame a lot of different Japanese and Korean brands as well since I can think of any number of moisturizers that either came in the cutest little tub or tin ever. The first one that comes to mind would be the long gone but never forgotten Sana Hiaruronsan Moisture Gel. Sigh those were the days. There’s also Mizon No 1 Moist King’s Berry Cream which comes in adorable tin. Why oh why am I obsessed with this silly packaging? It’s utterly unsanitary and won’t keep the ingredients stable but I still buy into them.

Sephpora’s are cute as hell not to mention quite cheap at a mere $8 bucks each. They’ll be great for travel as they are only 1.86 oz each.

Maybe Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Means Japanese SPF Formulas Are About To Go Viral

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 ($32) joins the ranks of The Glossier Invisible Shield with a weightless, invisible formula that protects your skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays.

Obviously, the appealing nature of this new formula is the promise of an invisible and weightless formula. One that absorbs quickly and wears well under other skincare while playing nicely with your makeup. US skincare routines and product launches have been evolving at a very rapid pace since many, many brands started sitting up and taking notice of Korean skincare routines and techniques. Although, I have to admit there are disappointment aspects of these new launches. For example, this year is beyond a doubt the year you’ll see facial sheet masks everywhere especially at the drugstore. I’ve even reviewed a few for you that recently released like Garnier Moisture Bomb The Super Hydrating Sheet Mask and Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating 100% Hydrogel Mask. So, why am I disappointed? Well, after using Korean facial sheet masks for many, many years I can safely say they are far superior to the ones I’ve tried from US brands thus far. I’m hoping as we see more launch this year from brands like Burt’s Bees, Soap and Glory, and Simple that they’ll prove more promising.

On that note, I worry that if the lightweight, quick to absorb formula sunscreens we’ve seen from Asia, Japan in particularly, do go viral that they won’t be as poorly formulated as the sheet masks I’ve seen thus far.

Too Faced White Peach Eyeshadow Palette for Spring 2018

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Too Faced White Peach Eyeshadow Palette ($45) available today and I’m still a little torn about what I think of this palette. This joins the Peaches and Cream Collection that’s available exclusively at Sephora and on the brand’s website. Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette is actually already part of the permanent collection but White Peach is a selection of shades that are a good deal less dramatic compared to past peach palettes that Too Faced has launched including Sweet Peach. The colors are a lot lighter with many cooler shades blended in which means White Peach might best suit fairer, cooler skin tones.

Do You Have the Time To Listen To Me Whine About Kat Von D Basket Case Anti-Precision Eyeliner?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I want Kat Von D Basket Case Anti-Precision Eyeliner ($19) so very badly. Why? Because first off Green Day was (is) totally my jam. I remember playing and replaying the Dookie album over and over and over and over and over again. The first time I saw them in concert I woke up the next day without a voice I was screaming and singing along so loudly.

Secondly, I really like the idea of this eyeliner! But really, can it even be called an eyeliner at all? It’s more like a cream eyeshadow stick in my humblest opinions. If it’s creamy enough it’ll likely be super easy to swipe on your lid and smudge out with your finger to get you the “I slept in my eyeliner and I look hot with racoon eyes” look. No but seriously, Billie Joe always managed to pull off that smudged up freaked up my eyeliner ran look without a hitch didn’t he?

I have to whine though for a minute. I wish it came in brown. I mean Billie Joe never used brown but I can’t really do black anymore. My eyes are super dry plus finer lines and black smudged eye liner isn’t really a good look for me anymore. It makes me look rather tired and beat up. Smoked out brown though I could do. But yeah, that would defeat the purpose of looking like Billie Joe.

I’ll still buy it though as a fan girl. That’s ok right?

None the less if the smudged out grunge look is what you seek this new Kat Von D Basket Case Anti-Precision Eyeliner is available now at Sephora.com.

Milani Has a New Banana Make It Last Setting Powder

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

At this point in my life I probably don’t need another banana or yellow setting powder in my life but somehow, I’ve becoming terribly addicted to them. My addiction started with Skin Food’s Salmon Dark Circle Powder and later on in life I discovered the joys of the Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Concealer Kit which includes a yellow setting powder.

I think both of those items taught me that even though I have dry under eyes I could still set my concealer with powder. If you use just the right amount of powder you can not only set your concealer for long, strong wear throughout the day but also, you have the potential to brighten up your entire eye area. I tend to navigate towards “banana powders” or yellow powders since yellow acts to neutralize darkness. But as with any powder you can easily over do things so remember a little goes a very long way.

I’ve tried a lot of different yellow powders lately since the contouring game is so strong in the beauty world lately. I’m really loving Hard Candy Sheer Envy Bake, Brighten & Set Loose Finishing Powder which is ridiculously affordable, generously-sized, and beautifully textured but I admit I tend to migrate back to my beloved Ben Nye Banana Powder after trying out other brands.

Speaking of trying something new….
