Revlon Colorstay Prep & Protect Primer ($13.99) is a new 3-in-1 formula that acts as a moisturizer, makeup primer and SPF all in one. Everywhere I look lately it seems like the beauty world is being influenced by Japanese makeup and skincare. Earlier today I spoke about Benefit’s new Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation and after that the new Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipsticks. We’ve had plenty of Korean beauty moments in the past two years in the beauty world but nowadays it seems like beauty brands are taking on some of Japan’s more popular trends.

I’m mentioning this because Revlon Colorstay Prep & Protect Primer reminds me a lot of Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen SPF 50 and many other fluid SPFs that are so readily available at Japanese drugstores.

Milani Prep + Brighten Rose Face Oil review

Milani Prep + Brighten Rose Face Oil ($13) is one of two new facial oils that launched on the brand’s website early last month that contains a blend of vitamin c, sunflower, apricot kernel, sweet almond, and crambe abyssinica oils which act to hydrate and brighten skin.

I actually find it interesting how many drugstore brands seem to be venturing into skincare lately. Physicians Formula has really jumped head first into it and released a number of different skincare products earlier this Spring. But it wasn’t something I expected to see from Milani. I do wonder if this is a one off or if they have plans to extend their skincare options. We shall see.

Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick review and swatches

Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick ($7.99) is a new hydrating, shiny finish lipstick collection that launched with the Maybelline Summer 2018 Collection in 10 shades.

I am beyond excited that Maybelline decided to do a shiny lipstick for Summer. I really miss lipsticks like the Color Whisper Lipstick that were discontinued and it feels way too long since Maybelline introduced anything glossy or shiny anything so I was all about trying these new Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipsticks.

LOreal also introduced Colour Riche Shine Lipstick prior to this launch and I’m hopeful this means that maybe matte everything is coming to an end!

Why Does Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette Seem Massive and Larger than Life!?

The new Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette is winging its way to us late this Summer (July) and contains 21 shades. 21 shades? That isn’t a lot! Urban Decay has done eyeshadow palettes that size before like the Full Spectrum Palette so why does the Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette seem so damn massive!?

Maybe the rectangle palette design is what makes this seem like one of the brand’s biggest eyeshadow palettes to date but in reality its not that big at all. Or maybe I’m the weird one that thinks it’s huge.

Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean is a Study in Fragrances of the Past

5 stars out of 5

I picked up the “new” Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Fragrance Mist and Body Lotion on Tuesday when I ventured out to see what the Semi-Annual Sale had to offer. I actually walked out of the store with a lot more than I thought I’d buy even though the sale pretty much sucked.

Gosh, remember Semi-Annual Sales back in the day? It was such a freaking array of wonderful things! Nowadays it’s sort of limited to body washes, body lotions, mists, and a few select candles. But back in the day the entire store was on sale with tons of back stock from the Holidays. You’d find Halloween accessories, candle holders from Christmas, many, many seasonal body care and fragrance items. It was REALLY a good sale.

Now it seems like most of the sale item are really recent items and the “retired” fragrances they bring back seem like they are ALWAYS the same.

But I admit to coming out of the store with a lot more than I thought I’d buy. I think I got about four candles one of which was Paris Cafe that’s really quite a strong coffee sent and Italy which is a nice chocolate-y scent as well as the newest Summer scents like Root Beer Float and Banana Split. I also grabbed a few body mists and lotions one of which was Vanilla Bean.
