I’ve mentioned it in a few of my reviews already but I’m very pleased with the packaging on Holiday 2012. These are a hard plastic shell with a firm plush pin cushion design on top. The compacts kinda have a vintage feel (the plastic might take away from that some though) and are very girlish and pretty.
The E.L.F. Devious Dramatic Eyes Palette ($9.99) is inspired by Disney’s Evil Queen from Snow White. This is one of three palettes available exclusively at Walgreens that recently launched for a limited time for Halloween 2012.
I recently tried out and reviewed the Cruella Palette for you and decided today I’d give the Evil Queen a whirl. She always had a rather killer smoky purple eye look going didn’t she?
Ahhh Tarte’s Carried Away Collector’s Set is a huge selection of Tarte products all rolled into a very large travel roll makeup bag. Tarte introduction of the set with their Holiday 2012 Collection is a refreshing change from their typical Jewelry Box themed palettes from years past.
The Carried Away Set is more about travel friendly options and a selection of products that can be broken up and either toted away with you or used on their own. This is a more versatile selection of products that doesn’t confine you to a bulky palette. No question, Tarte’s past Jewelry Box Palettes are absolutely gorgeous. However, these types of palettes are a bit bulky and aren’t travel friendly.
Carried Away gives you the option to easily tote your makeup with you or remove it from the makeup bag it comes with and take only one or two pieces of the collection with you. As I said the Jewelery Box Palettes are gorgeous but I do like the option of removing the eyeshadow palette or the blush or the lipglosses and just taking those with me….where as with the larger palette I have to tote it ALL with me.
The Carried Away Set definitely proves easier to travel with.
I can’t get the stupid Cruella song out of my head every since word popped on E.L.F.’s new Villain Eye Palette Collection. I sing it in the shower, I hum it at work, God what an ear worm to have.
As you know E.L.F. released three Disney Villain inspired Eyeshadow Palettes for Halloween 2012. The palettes are $9.99 each and available exclusively at Walgreens (in most cases they can be found in the Halloween section of the store).
The palettes are made from a sturdy cardboard and feature essentials for creating a Villain themed eye look.
I got my hands on Cruella’s Eyeshadow Palette recently.
Too Faced Glamour to Go Palette is back with a new Spun Sugar Edition for Holiday 2012. This light on the wallet $22 dollar palette features eight Too Faced Eyeshadows, a highlighter, a bronzer, a lipgloss, and a mirror all in one small palette making it travel and stocking stuffer friendly.
Tarte The Big Thrill Limited Edition Color Collection for Holiday 2012 should be popping up at your local Ulta shortly. This $48 palette takes on Tarte’s traditional jewelry box shape that they release for the Holidays and is filled with an array of products for cheeks, lips, and eyes.
Urban Decay launched their new Vice Palette for Holiday 2012 ($59) as a one day sale only this weekend. If you didn’t snag it during the one day sale, no worries, it’ll be available again at the end of this month.
This palette features twenty new shades of shadow exclusive to the Vice Palette and a double ended Good Karma Shadow and Crease Brush for application.
I’ve already swatched it for you and today I’ll be reviewing.
The new Tarte Amazon Escape Amazonian Clay Eye & Cheek Palette raced across my desk today. I decided to have a little play with it because girls (and guys) I need an escape. My week is brutal. I’m having a hard time catching up and a trip to the Amazon with Joe at my side is all I need.
This stylish mirrored clutch features eye and cheek essentials infused with Amazonian Clay, sorry Joe’s sweat isn’t technically in the formula…!
Not only am I wearing the Benefit Feelin’ Dandy Lip & Cheek Kit ($28) but I also had a rather great day overall. Work was rather fab as we underwrote over 40 vehicles today for a few new corporations, dinner was fab as I had my favorite dish, grilled chicken Caesar salad, my evening is fab as I’m catching up on Teen Wolf at the moment (didya know Dylan O’Brien is on Twitter? I heart!), and yes my makeup is just dandy courtesy this cute new lip and cheek kit from Benefit.
Life is good, as always.
Take a look at the Feelin’ Dandy Lip & Cheek Kit, I think you’ll likey!
Lend me your ear, I’m going to rave and I’m going to rant the new Hello Kitty Head of the Class Make Up Palette. Hopefully someone else tried or purchased it so we can share experiences.
Sephora has done a GREAT job of reformulating these palettes but there are still a few quirks to iron out.
I must say, being a fan of NARS Orgasm, the NARS Foreplay Cheek Palette is a thrilling little creation I had to own. This not only holds my very favorite blush of all time, Orgasm, but three other shades of blush that actually make up that beloved color.
Allow me to explain.
Orgasm is golden peachy pink gorgeousness. Inside the NARS Foreplay Cheek Palette you’ll get three shades of color that make up the golden peach pink that is Orgasm. At a glance, there’s a lot to be excited about here but after carefully thinking about it I realized it’s a passing fancy that isn’t really something you absolutely have to have.
It might sound like the hit of a new TV show but How To Look The Best At Everything is Benefit’s new Flawless Complexion Makeup Kit.
The new Benefit How To Look the Best At Everything contains an essential selection of products for concealing eyes, perfecting skin, and getting your skin looking its very best for makeup.
This $28 palette features a slick little face plate that could get your blood pressure way up. Who doesn’t love brilliant packaging? Housing 10 shimmering shades of nude shadow, a brush for application, and an eyeliner pencil plus a how to get the look guide this one seemed like a hot pick for Fall.
Lorac Wild For TANtalizer Collection is making its debut today on my face. It’s super hot today, first real hot day we got in New York, so a bronze-y look seemed the order of business when I woke up this morning.
I feel Lorac is terribly overlooked sometimes because they seriously make some of the best eye shadows ever and have such great, inexpensive sets during seasonal releases. Their Summer 2012 Collection is sizzling and their new Lorac Wild For TANtalizer Set is a mere $39 taking care of lips, eyes, face, and accessorizes you with a nifty bag too.
As you know, I recently blogged about the new Stila Travel Girl Palettes for Summer 2012. There are five available at the moment but knowing Stila’s track record they’ll probably do an exclusive here or there with Macy’s, Sephora, etc….
The style of palette isn’t actually new since Nordstrom first introduced their exclusive version several weeks ago entitled On The Road. This version is a collaboration between Nordsom BP (BP is a collection created by Nordie’s for teens/young women) and Stila. Stila has released a few BP collaborated palettes prior to this so I was kinda delighted by On the Road since it was a new and different variation from the typical budget palettes Stila has put out the last two years or so.
However, I think the uniqueness and specialness has worn off for me now that I know there will be five (or more) now.
Here’s my thoughts on the Stila + BP On the Road Palette, take the jump for the deets.
