The Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale 2018 starts tomorrow for Rouge Members and gets you 20% Off your purchase at Sephora.com using promo code YESROUGE. I can’t wait! I have a list a mile long and that list includes some skincare picks!

It’s always a great time to stock up on skincare staples during the sale in my opinion especially if you use a lot of mid-range or higher-end skincare as 20% off is a major deal. I know I’ll be stocking up on some of my favorites but I also came across a few items I want to try out as well.

Here’s a list of some items I’ll be purchasing and restocking up on!

Makeup Revolution x the Emily Edit Collection Available Now

The Makeup Revolution Revolution x The Emily Edit The Wants Eyeshadow Palette and Makeup Revolution x The Emily Edit The Needs Face & Eye Palette are both available on Ulta.com today much to Emily Noel fan girls and guys far and wide.

As you know already I’m sure popular youTuber Emily Noel teamed up with Makeup Revolution to create two different eyeshadow and face palettes that launched today. It’s a very exciting launch for Emily and her fans (I’m a total fan of hers and I’m pretty damn excited). Emily’s one of the few youTubers I actually watch and trust. Her reviews are always spot on and she features a really wide array of different products. So of course, when I heard she was coming out with a collaboration I was running around in circles of delight!

Her collection consists of two palettes the first one being the Makeup Revolution Revolution x The Emily Edit The Wants Eyeshadow Palette ($20) that includes 24 eyeshadows in matte, satin, and shimmer shades.

Emily has been quoted as saying she wanted to create a palette with a balance of light, medium, of dark shades and one that stayed within everyone’s comfort zone for everyday looks.

Shades include:

  • The Cream (white cream, matte finish)
  • Midwest (light tan, matte finish)
  • Oh Heavens! (beige cream, satin finish)
  • Cupcake (peach, satin finish)
  • Hobby (light brown, matte finish)
  • Dues Paid (red brick, matte finish)
  • LoveTons (plum, matte finish)
  • Laughcry (blood orange, matte finish)
  • Prayer (sepia brown, matte finish)
  • Eve Rose (light lilac with a gold shift, satin finish)

Too Faced It’s Bananas Brightening Setting Powder Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
2 stars out of 5

Too Faced Tutti Fruitt It’s Bananas Brightening Setting Powder ($30) in Banana Cream is a new banana-scented setting powder that acts to blur imperfections while setting makeup to a flawless finish. I’m not sure this can exactly be called new because there was a Too Faced I Want Kandee Banana Pudding Brightening Setting Powder that launched with Kandee Johnson’s I Want Kandee Collaboration for Fall 2017.

I actually didn’t like Banana Pudding at all. I felt it was too dense, dry, and difficult to pick up with a powder brush. I had hopes it would set my concealer but sadly, it just didn’t quite work out for me. I do know a lot of people that really liked it but I think there are far superior loose banana powders out there that are not only formulated better but are also cheaper such as Ben Nye’s Banana Powder.

This is why I was a little worried about purchasing Too Faced Tutti Fruitt It’s Bananas Brightening Setting Powder but I was hoping the formula would turn out as great Peach Blur Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder. I really enjoy that formula! It leaves my skin look so flawless.

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Sparkling Pineapple Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Sparkling Pineapple review and swatches

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Sparkling Pineapple Eyeshadow Palette ($34) is one of two new scented eyeshadow palettes that launched with the new Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection that’s available exclusively at Ulta (and on Too Faced’s website).

I said it before, I’ll say it a dozen times more but I’m tired of the mermaids, the unicorns, and the fairies. Please no more. I have an inkling that dragons might be the next big thing but that’s a story for another day.

What I’m not tired of is fruit. Fruit has always played some sort of important role in kawaii culture. For some reason or another fruit is cute and it makes it’s way into many makeup and skincare picks in Japan and Korea. Brands like Tony Moly, Baviphat, and others are very, very fond of popping their makeup and skincare into fruit-shaped bottles and compacts.

This seems a trend that the makeup world here in the US has picked up on from Covergirl to L’Oreal everyone seems to have a scented fruit palette available. But Too Faced gave birth the trend here in the US after launching the Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette in 2016 and after that an entire range of peach scented makeup collection followed.

I find myself sneering at some of the more “cutesy” makeup collections lately. Maybe I’m getting older or maybe I’m just a bit worn out when it comes to these juvenile trends. I didn’t feel that way about the Tutti Frutti Collection. I have admit I thought the entire collection looked incredibly cute and now after getting my order from Ulta I feel even more in love with it. They did an outstanding job with the packaging and presentation of this collection which is always a very important part of the makeup experience for me. Good packaging gets me every single time.
