L’Oreal Doutzen’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Doutzen's Red Lipstick

L’Oreal Doutzen’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick is one of several new lipsticks that launched in the L’Oreal Collection Exclusive Pure Reds Lipstick Collection.

As you know L’Oreal curated a collection of red lipsticks in this release inspired by present and pass celebrity and model ambassadors. Doutzen’s Red is inspired by Dutch model and actress Doutzen Kroes. Technically, like Eva’s Red, Doutzen’s Red isn’t QUITE red but more orange. It didn’t surprise me though as Doutzen’s blonde hair and sunny skin plus her crystal blue eyes allows her to get away with such a fun, vibrant shade of color.

Take a look!

L’Oreal Eva’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick Eva

L’Oreal Eva’s Red Colour Riche Lipstick is a custom shade of lipstick inspired by Eva Longoria that makes an appearance in the new L’Oreal Collection Private Pure Reds Lipstick Collection.

L’Oreal carefully curated the Pure Reds Lipstick Collection with shades of red inspired by some of their current and past celebrity and model ambassadors. Each shade was created to flatter a different skin tone, hair, and eye color which in turn enables you to purchase your perfect shade of red lipstick.

I happen to be of the mentality that you should never limit yourself when it comes to color cosmetics! If you like, wear it! I don’t let any skin tone rules dictate whether or not I should or shouldn’t wear neon pink eyeshadow should I please. I do have exceptions to that little rule though and it comes in the form of red lipstick. Red lipstick happens to be like snowflakes, no two are a like. It’s a shade I delight in and put plenty of fear in as sometimes I feel like a clown when I’m wearing it. I do feel that some reds are better on me than others so in this case I tend to navigate to warmer shades of reds versus cooler, blue based ones. Do I limit myself here? Perhaps! But for me, red lipstick is the only exception I have when it comes to color and I tend to carefully select shades that look best on my skin tone.

This isn’t to say you should ever limit yourself! But I personally like the idea of a collection of red lipsticks with models who represent a range of different skin tones which helps me considerably when selecting my perfect shade of red!

Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick Review & Swatches

Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Lipsticks

Sure, there were moments when Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick ($21) was introduced with the Too Faced Summer 2015 where I was running around in circles of joy. I love the original Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick formula and obviously, hello? I’m going to love a metallic finish version!

But…

Full disclosure…

I look hecka bad in metallic lipsticks. They tend to be very frosty on me and this full faced girl can’t do frosty well.

Let’s hope Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick doesn’t fall victim to that!
